Listed buildings are living witnesses to the past that tell fascinating stories of bygone eras. Another great reference project takes us to Mauerstrasse in Berlin, the historic headquarters of Deutsche Bank dating back to 1890. Over the years, this building has undergone a remarkable transformation, from its origins to the current home of the Federal Ministry of Health and the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth.

Our challenge was to meet the functional requirements of the Federal Institute for Real Estate (BImA) with regard to a careful renovation in accordance with the strict guidelines for the protection of historical monuments and at the same time to enable state-of-the-art office use.

We manufactured hundreds of listed box-type windows of the type TIMM W 56/68 with integrated sun protection. The restored imperial courtyards were fitted with insulating glass windows from the TIMM W 90 system is used. Our portfolio also included a large number of high-security windows and doors (up to RC4 and FB7), all in a carefully coordinated, listed design.

In close cooperation with the Hochtief and ZECH Hochbau AG consortium and the experienced architects from KSP Engel, we pursued a clear goal: to create a modern ministry in the midst of historical architecture. The result speaks for itself: a successful symbiosis of the timeless elegance of bygone eras and contemporary functionality that is undoubtedly impressive.
