The BMELV extension extends over six floors along Französische Strasse in Berlin. This architectural masterpiece is characterized by its structured and dynamic design. The organic inner structure of the building is reflected in its outer contours, giving it a lively and fascinating appearance. This design vision stands in clear contrast to the monotonous appearance of the surrounding buildings in the rigid block grid of Friedrichstrasse.

Dhe building presents itself in a sculptural form that creates a completely independent typology and thus clearly stands out from the historic old building. The vertically offset window bands lend the building a subtle spatial plasticity, which is impressively accentuated by reflections and light refractions.

The building’s windows were planned, manufactured and installed to the highest standards. The TIMM W 90-system with larch wood and a glaze coating was used, with all-glass corners being used in some areas. The windows offer increased burglary protection.
