Hans Timm Fensterbau offers you bullet-resistant security doors in wood, wood-aluminum, aluminum and steel to protect human life against short and long guns.

In addition to the necessary protection, our security doors are impressive in terms of appearance and design, regardless of the frame material (timber, timber-aluminum, aluminum and steel), shape and opening type – whether in the private or public sector.

Our security doors combine durable functional security with modern, high-quality design and offer architects and planners reliable and user-oriented solutions for every security requirement – with a wide range of design options.

All of our bullet-resistant security doors are certified by independent bulletproofing authorities, e.g. the German Federal Firearms Office. The firearms authorities in Ulm and Mellrichtstadt tested and certified in accordance with DIN EN 1522/1523.

A ballistic assessment is carried out during the bullet tests:

  • of the bullet and splinter exit of the window frame construction,
  • their fillings (e.g. glass or panel filling),
  • the connection area between the panel and frame and
  • the connection of the sash to the frame.

Thanks to our own research and development and our decades of experience in the high-security property business, we can offer you combination solutions for bullet-resistant and burglar-resistant security doors up to the highest resistance classes.

Another option to increase the security of the building and thus the protection against bullets is the use of electronic security components (including alarm glass, alarm sensors, magnetic contacts, bolt contacts), which can be invisibly integrated into the constructions of our security windows. By installing these security components, the windows are monitored for opening, locking and breaching/shooting. The components used here correspond to the valid VdS classes A, B & C.

Test for bullet resistance. The tests for the certification of bullet-resistant doors are carried out in accordance with DIN EN 1522 / 1523 at independent bullet testing laboratories, e.g. the Ulm Procurement Office and the Mellrichtstadt Procurement Office.

Narrowest views despite high security

TIMM security doors also impress with their delicate design, so that our security doors generally do not differ from standard doors. With our slim face widths, we enable a visually appealing and unobtrusive external appearance.

Can be combined with burglar resistance and many additional features

Thanks to “multi-certification” and our high level of expertise, our TIMM security doors can be combined with requirements for protection against burglary, fire and smoke protection or explosion. In addition, our Timm security doors can be equipped with many additional components (e.g. alarm glass, monitoring contacts) that monitor opening, locking and breakthrough.

OUR HIGH-QUALITY SECURITY DOORS ARE TESTED for bullet resistance

The tests for the certification of bullet-resistant doors are carried out in accordance with DIN EN 1522 / 1523 at independent ballistic testing laboratories, e.g. the Ulm Procurement Office and the Mellrichtstadt Procurement Office.

MOST IMPORTANT COMPONENTS FOR SECURITY DOORS

Glazing

Bullet-resistant elements must be fitted with appropriate bullet-resistant glazing in accordance with DIN EN 1522.

The combination of different laminated glasses and intermediate layers decelerate the spheres/projectiles to such an extent that penetration is prevented. Thermal insulation, lighting conditions and design are not visibly impaired on the outside and we manage to achieve a certified resistance class up to FB7 without compromising on design and functionality.

Frames & fittings

Not only the glazing, but also the frames and fittings must meet high security requirements.

In order to meet these requirements, the frame made of wood, wood-aluminum, aluminum and steel must also be bullet-resistant thanks to special safety technology and components.

We have been able to have this technology successfully certified through years of development and thus complete the bullet-resistant glazing with bullet-resistant frames and fittings.

Wall connection

The standard for bullet resistance in accordance with DIN EN 1522 does not provide any information on the bullet resistance of the wall connections.

During the planning stage, care should be taken to ensure that the wall connection hasat least the same resistance class against bullet penetration as the door itself.

Magnetic contacts

Magnetic locking and opening monitoring systems offer individual solutions for intrusion and hazard detection.

The systems monitor the status of the window or sliding element for opening and closing

The components used here comply with the valid VdS classes A, B & C.

Alarm glass

Alarm glass is toughened glass (ESG) that is equipped with an alarm spider (glass breakage detector).

This can be either visible or completely concealed.

The components used here comply with the valid VdS classes C.

Bolt switch contact

Electromechanical lock monitoring systems offer individual solutions for intrusion and hazard detection.

The systems monitor the locking status of the door element.

The components used here comply with the valid VdS classes C.

SAFETY GLASS WITH BULLET RESISTANCE

Our bullet-resistant security doors are fitted with security glass in accordance with DIN EN 1063.

Higher-quality safety glazing can also be installed at the customer’s request.

Bullet-resistant glass is divided within its resistance class into glass with shatter resistance (S) and without shatter resistance (NS).

Our bullet-resistant constructions always use glass of the higher NS classification.

Toughened
Safety glass (ESG)

Toughened safety glass (TSG) is a thermally toughened soda-lime glass in which a strong internal tension is built up through heat treatment. This significantly increases temperature, impact and shock resistance compared to normal float glass. When it breaks, it disintegrates into small, compact cubes, effectively reducing the risk of cuts and impact injuries.

Toughened safety glass (ESG) is mainly used for alarm glass.

In the event of breakage, ESG shatters into many small blunt fragments and triggers the alarm.

Compound
Safety glass (VSG)

Laminated safety glass (LSG) consists of two or more panes with interlayers in between. This is referred to as glass-foil-glass bonding. The number of highly elastic polyvinyl butyral (PVB) films can vary according to the resistance class. The panes are becoming thicker and heavier depending on the safety requirements.

Polycarbonate
glass (PC)

Polycarbonate (PC) is a thermoplastic and is used in particular when classic laminated safety glass reaches its limits (too thick, too heavy) or customers have a special need for protection.

Polycarbonate glass combines the special properties of glass and polycarbonate. Glass is very scratch-resistant and rigid. Polycarbonate, on the other hand, is very light, impact-resistant and has a relatively soft surface. The combination of the two materials results in very good and highly transparent safety glass that impresses with its high resistance.
